This scene was very dramatic with all the issues going on about the zoot suits and the sailors. i actually found this scene interesting as i read over it again I started to imagine the play in my head as the sailors where trying remove his clothing and Henry looking down upon them. the quote i have chosen is "the press distorted the very meaning of the word "zoot suit" all it is another way to say Mexican, but the ideal of the orgin chuco was to look like a diamond to look sharp..." page 80.Pachucho says this to the press because they are calling the Mexicans out of there name and trying to make it seem like a bad name. So Pachucho explains where the word came from to clarify the situation. This quote is important because it shows you how much trouble is going on in L.A. because of this as the sailors strip the zoot suit of of him because there mad there focusing more on the suits than the war.
Why do the sailors need to be so focused on the zoot suiters than there issues?
